wireless systems?



Any help would be apreciated if you have experience with this stuff.
I like a wire - simple , good tone, no noise - but I'm being forced
to
be guitarist and sound man - for our upcomming gig ( no one is
available with the skills required). So looks like wireless may be a
good option so I can step out and check levels now and then.
So the question:
How much do I have to spend to get a decent wireless system?
Which one and why you like it vs others if you can.
