Re: Learning but need to be quiet

That is always preferred, but often software deveopers are not good at
documentation. Take Photoshop for example. There is a big market for
Photoshop books and night school courses because what comes with the
product, is obviously deficient.

I'm just curious, what are you guys doing with
Cuebase and these other, expensive, high learning curve
softwares?

What are they doing for you that a freeware or
lower cost software won't do?

One of the most essential keys to exploring your creativity is having a day job that provide money in excess of your talent...

What Logic Studio is going to do for me mainly is to give me far better control over synch and compositing - what I'd like to do is to do sound for film; seeing a how mostly what I like to do is just play with audio...so I got it into my head to learn to animate, and I've been developing some rudimentary skills at doing that on my own, too.

I plan to combine Logic Studio with Final Cut Express to do and synch sound and sound effects to my animations. I've also been looking at HD video cameras now that they are coming down, and I'll have one of those to muck with for signal, too.

....and - I know a nest of programmers that I work alongside that have the skills between them to have put together an indie film company - one is a Guilded writer, another is a writer/camera operator/director and owns all of production the hardware. They've approached me on occasion about doing sound work for their productions, and I'd be interested in that. "Sounds" like fun.
