The reason the commercials are so loud in the first place is that they
*are* compressed more than the programmed material.
Yep, what a pain that is. But with a compressor
included in the TV, you could turn the overall volume down
because the quiet program material would be louder (thus
levelling things out).
On the other hand, modern remotes have mute buttons -- for a reason!
Absolutely. Our kids came along before the IR remote
controls did, however. So call me bitter. ;-)
