If you have the skills to spot and correct the
errors, then you surely don't need the tab
to begin with.
It's simply not that difficult to figure out
stuff without relying on tab. It's just not.

I disagree - While I can sometimres figure it out, Outside sources,,,,
tab or whatever sometime open a new way of looking at it that I might
otherwise have missed. This happens because we get stuck in a rut and
think we know whats going on and perhaps miss an 11th or sus 4th or
something. Yeah it could be a tab error, or maybe its not there and
should be, but all input is a good thing and then you decide... Also
if bedroom musicians use tab and are happy with it and rock out in the
bedroom whats the harm threre happy with the result and is all they
are looking for ( they don't want to, or can't spend $ on teachers or
books or videos). Not everyone wants to be a guitar god - its just for
fun for some of us ... ed s.
