And by a whole tone, I mean two semitones, aka interval of a major
2nd.
I can do it on my electric guitar, which has thinner strings. But am
having a very hard time doing it on my new acoustic guitar.
Which string, which fret, what gauge strings?
Like anything else, start somewhere easy,
work toward somewhere "less easy".
You can probably bend the 1st and 2nd strings at the 16th fret
up a whole tone. If you can do that, start working your
way down, toward the nut, little by little.
ie if 16 is ok, try 15, then 14 then 13 etc.
When you start reaching a point where it's
a problem, go back up a fret or two and
practice there. Push that edge a little
bit every chance you get.
Likewise, work from the easier strings to
the (perhaps) more difficult strings, ie
from the high E string toward the low E string.
Before long you'll be bending .061 low E strings up a
Maj 3rd from the 1st fret.
Be careful changing lightbulbs and masturbating.

Print it & frame it... that's gotta be your best.
