You know the list is far longer than that.

But for one reason or another, those that are attracted
to acoustic guitars tend to learn songs.

I think that's most true of those that use guitar to accompany their
voice. Acoustic guitar + voice is a good combination - compatible in
loudness and portable. But instrumentalists, not as much. Most of the
solo acoustic instrumental players I know started off as electric
players.
