I have a POD, but have put together a pedal board this year for a new
head and cab I ordered.

This is for the rock/pop stuff I do. In order

Fulltone Clyde wah
Emma Transmorgifier compression
NOC3 Earthtone clean boost
NOC3 Firefly low to mid gain od
Keeley Fuzzhead
Gaspedal Cam fuzz
Gaspedal Carb low gain od
Eventide Modfactor phase, chorus, trem, modring, rotary, flange, auto
wah, etc.
TC Electronics Nova Delay
Boss TU-2 tuner

I have found that every multifx unit I have played did some things
well and others poorly, hence individual pedals.

Same here. I ditched my POD XTL and went back to pedals - much happier. This is the hot item for rigging pedals. Use anybody's mounting board, but GRAB yourself one of these -

My pedal board now has: Boss TU-2, Morley wah/volume, Moog low pass filter, Moog 12-stage phaser, Moog MuRF, Fulltone OCD, Fulltone TTE, Boss FS-6 for TTE control, and a Boss DD-6. I rig and run the whole thing with a Pedal Snake using a 1-Spot for power, located at the amp end, off my board. The DD-6 sucks compared to the Moog and Fulltone gear and I may ditch it, but I wanted a reverse delay.

A multi-effects piece that I did pick up recently that stacks up really nicely against real analog gear is a TC Electronic G-Major...that in conjunction with a BBE processor and all my other stuff is making some seriously sweet sounds.

Still working up G-Major patches, and will also likely pick up the Nova Dynamics pedal just to use as a twin gate vice using the one in the G-Major...rethinking the rack-thang...
