For some reason that one didn't show up on a search I did, but I found
the web site. One of the packages they offer is called MagicScore
School; it costs $29.95 US which is pretty reasonable and they offer a
free download demo version which you can play with for 30 days. The
only difference between the demo and the full software package is that
when you print out using the demo, it prints "DEMO" in large print
between the staves.
So....I downloaded the demo and I managed to score the lead slide guitar
part to The Traveling Wilburys' "Handle With Care" without pulling my
hair out and play it back (using a keyboard synth) to verify that it's
correct. I think with time, becoming accustomed to the program's
philosophy and the layout, I can actually get this one to work for me in
a time that's not too much longer than writing it out by hand.
