Well, the vast majority of Carole King's songs
were done by artists other than herself.
That's true, but it begs the ultimate question.
Bob appears to have made more albums.
But Carole didn't even start recording
her own songs until 20 years of being
an immensely successful composer.
True. On the other hand, Carole's songs were often written for a
single performer, whereas many of Bob's songs were each re-recorded
by many artists.
Isn't it possible to trace all the cover recordings of a specific
song through sites like ASCAP and BMI? It would be an interesting
exercise if one were obsessed enough to do it for each of Bob's and
Carole's songs (and maybe Ted's and Alice's too), which I'm not.
She's only mildly better looking than Bob.
Carole crosses my "OK" threshold (at least she would have in her
prime). Bob? NOT!
Good looking enough to warrant a second look.
