I use a pair of M-Audio BX5a's and a Rockit 10 Sub.

Easily the best PC sound system I've ever heard. It even beats my beloved Klipsch ProMedia 5.1 Ultra setup.

The sub is mandatory. While the BX5a's have excellent and smooth response, as well as razor-sharp imaging, it has NO BALLS whatsoever in the low end.
