similar auditory maturity. No sense in mixing

True, but OTOH, if you play any commercial CDs
at all (presumably targeted at younger ears, or
to at one time younger ears ;-) ) , and then
introduce your mix with extra treble, then a
re-tweaking of the stereo will be necessary
to put things back into proper balance.
