YMMV, bgut I wish I never bought mine.

My mileage is different. I like my HRD very much. I found that the "tto loud" issue can be addressed by not turning it up so loud. I have a knob for that on the HRD, and knobs for that on my guitar.

I agree that the drive channel isn't the best, but I prefer my Maxon pedal anyway.
If someone is hoping to get natural tube break up distortion thingy, this amp isn't for you because you'd have to have it turned up so loud it would knock the moon out of the sky.
But I find the clean tone with my ES335 very nice, and so far (four or five years) I haven't had any breakage issues KOW.
