Yeah, I think it's pretty uncool.
As a freelancer myself, I understand what it's like to want/need work.
But I would never do this.

Now, there is a chance that these are real testimonials, and that they
gave permission for them to be used.  But to come forth in a flood
like this, I don't know.  Maybe it would have been better if a single
person would have posted a link to a page full of testimonials, rather
than this flood of shills.

Well, just to throw my sticks on this fire and summarize, I'll tell
you all that the reason I haven't posted before is I didn't know this
thread existed. I belong to The Acoustic Guitar Forum, the Martin
Guitar Forum, and some others. Who knew there was a group called
alt.guitar.beginner?

I got an email from Desi Serna saying his products were being
disparaged, and asking for my input as a customer - which if you are
in business is called measuring customer satisfaction - it's a valid
and positive business activity.

Serna's email let me know about your group. I came here to look
around, found the negative comment on Desi's products, and posted my
own assessment in comparison. I'm a real person and the comments are
my own.

Having read the rest of this thread, I'm seeing you've heard from a
lot of satisfied Fretboard Theory customers. Having read the comments
of some other members of this thread I'm not inclined to spend more
time here.

Cheers,
.
