"Pretty close" to what? The overdubbed, rerecorded,
punched in, hired gun corrected solo that you hear
on one, isolated recording of some player?

What if you've been playing only 9 years?

Define "pretty close"?

Goofy questions? Yes they are. It's a goofy
concept. You're attempting to quantify music
by saying "have I got it right?". But there
isn't a "right". The original solo player
can't play the solo exactly the same. He
might not even be able to play it "pretty close".
In a lot of cases, he might not be able to
play it at all, someone else plays it on
the recording.

If I spend more than 2 or 3 minutes trying
to learn something, I'm reaching too far.
I have to simplify the process so I can get
a bunch of small successes.

Your prospective solo has (let's say) ten notes.
I guarantee you can play all ten of those notes.
Figure out WHICH pair of notes is giving you a
problem. It's always MORE THAN ONE note that
causes problems, because we can ALWAYS play
any ONE note. The difficulty crops up when
we try and change from that one note to some
other one note.

It's the CHANGE, the MOVE from one note to another
that requires the player to "give up" a little bit
of note to allow the next one to happen.

So, to attempt to answer your orig question,
ten notes x 2 minutes each...20 minutes.
