Cool Edit hasn't been available for purchase in years - the company
went out of business in 2003.
Bummer. OTOH, I suppose that makes pirated copies OK, of which there must be
plenty about.
What would you suggest as similar? Are things like Sound Forge and Wave Lab
still around?
