alt.binaries.karaoke has a FAQ that Alan posts on Sundays that explains this

I have a number of karaoke files with the extension .mid and they play with
vanBasco's karaoke player. What I would like to do is edit them so that the
chords show in the text. E.G. :- Am There is a C house in D New F Orleans,
Am They call the C Rising E Sun. A simple example but you get what I
mean. Has anyone done such a thing? Is there a program, preferably
freeware, that would enable me to edit the files and insert the chords?
