G'day all and greetings from Australia.
I'm a beginner, and also a travelling salesman spending a LOT of time in the
car. I have been spending my rest breaks practicing chords by watching my
finger placements on the fretboard in my rear-view mirror. By not looking
directly at the fretboard I'm finding it easier to move my fingers into
position this way, but being a total novice I'm not sure if I should be
learning this way or not. Any thoughts/comments on this dumbish question is
appreciated.
Cheers

Phil,

Don't mind us guys that are trying to be funny. The question was not
dumb at all.

If it works for you, that is fine. The main thing is to not get so
frustrated that you quit playing. So if something helps keep you
practicing for longer periods and keeps that guitar in your hands, it
will help you in the long run.
