I'm a brand new acoustic guitarist. I seem to be having a tough timeclassical position might work for you left foot on a foot stool waist of
finding the best / correct position to sit and play. When trying to keep
the body of the guitar next to me by using my right hand, I find the
head of the guitar swinging away. I have tried different seating
positions (different heights, positions for my right leg, etc.) but
can't see to find one that works right. Suggestions?
Thanks
Martin
the guitar on the left leg. Another common position is waist of guitar on
right leg, legs crossed. Some people use a strap even when seated.

I use a foot stool for my right foot with the guitar sitting in the
"wedge" at the top of my thigh that gets created when you raise the right
leg a bit. I'm one of those guys who uses a strap when seated - I never
have to worry about dropping her.
