No. G7 is spelled G B D F natural.
Gmaj7 is spelled G B D F sharp.
The chords are dictated by the scale, not the other way around.
The scale determines the types of intervals that make chords
minor, major, dim, Maj7, min7, Dom7 etc
C = CMaj7
D = Dm7
E = Em7
F = FMaj7
G = Gdom7
A = Ami7
B = Bm7b5
Mj7 are the 1 and 4 chords.
mi7 are the 2, 3, and 6 chords.
m7b5 is the 7 chord
