Well I don't think the finger is muting the string enough (Maybe it's
because it's close to the end of the string and the majority of the
vibration is in the middle of the string I'm guessing?). It's the
instant between my finger has cleared the string. The fourth fret is
still fretted, fifth fret is clear, my finger obviously isn't
applying much pressure because otherwise the fifth fret will be
fretted. The noise if made by the string hitting the fifth fret I
believe. Which makes the guitar quite annoying to play. Because I
have to press a lot harder to get a clean note. Otherwise when the
string appear to be sitting on the fret, it's actually sitting on the
previous fret and buzz like mad.
Hope this clears things up a bit
Doesn't clear anything up for me. Neither does your
top posting.
You either want to play the 5th fret or you want
there to be no sound. You've got some kind of
in-between thing going on that I can't see as
useful or applicable. Fret the note you want to
play, or lift your finger off and mute or let
it ring open or fret a new note. Leaving your
finger lightly on the fifth fret doesn't make
sense.
