Fret Buzz

Hi all,

Lately I noticed that there's fret buzz on my Yamaha acoustic guitar. It's always been there I think but just recently I managed to work out what it is. What happens is that when I press down on a string between the two fret bars, the previous fret (one that's closer to the head) is closer to the string than the freting fret (i.e. the fret closer to bridge). So when I release my finger slowly, there comes a point where only the previous fret is in contact with the string and it produces a buzz. It's not too noticable if I release my finger fast but it's definitely annoying. So what's the thing to adjust in this situation? I've not done much setup before but I'd like to have a go if there's something not too technical to try out.

Thanks in advance

Larry
