I guess I should have been more specific about size. My classical
acoustic is 40 inches long overall. I'd like something in the 36 inch
overall length (or shorter), with a 1 3/4inch (or wider) nut.

Thanks for the question.

Just to give a picture of my ability level. I am a beginning
guitarist.
When people ask if I play the guitar I say that I try to play.
Consequently, price is an issue.
Lately I am being required to travel a lot in my job. It is
inconvenient
to carry my full size (40" length) classical nylon string guitar with
me.
I would like to get a 3/4 size acoustic or acoustic electric guitar
for
travel. I would also like it to have a wide nut, 1 3/4 inch or wider.
Steel string or nylon would be acceptable.
The prime requirements are 3/4 size with a wide nut. I can't find
one. Any
suggestions will be appreciated.
TIA,

3/4 or 7/8 size classical.

why not try a parlour? larrivee makes a sweet one...different woods,
really neat little guitar!

The parlor guitar idea is great, however the Larrivvee's are too
expensive for a beginner like me.

You will love these.

I think you could get it a bit cheaper if you looked around, though.

Nut width is going to be an issue on this and all the other small guitars I
know of, except for 3/4 classicals like the Strunal. The Grand probably has
a slightly wider nut than most, but I doubt if it is 1 3/4"

According to seagull's website it's pretty close at 1.72. I never
really thought it felt wide & I have average size hands.
