Hello, all:
Just joined this group recently because I am taking a brief break from
bass, picking up my rather dusty Epi "goth" SG and beginning lessons
soon. I purchased that guitar, a Danelectro Dirty Thirty amp, and a
used Fender Reverb Deluxe 85 from an attorney at work more to get
started on playing and not really know what kind of sounds I'll
eventually be able to get out of what I have. (Of course, it's far too
soon to really know what I want in terms of sound because I've been
"serious" for about two weeks and I barely know more chords than the
Ramones.)
I suppose what I'm asking is, does anyone have experience with similar
equipment and would it be gig-worthy should I eventually become a
competent enough rhythm guitarist? Does that make any sense?
Thanks
Starbuck
Depends what kind of music you want to play really. While you could
gig with a solid state amp, most guitarists who use an overdriven tone
prefer tube amps.
