finding acoustic jams

If you are into acoustic folk music - bluegrass, old-time, roots and
such - you might be looking for jam sessions near you. Perhaps you
are just looking for other musicians in the neighborhood.

There are two things a beginning guitar player may want to do right
away on the site
* Type in your city and see whether jams have been posted nearby (all
the posts are from folks like you, so add em if you got em)
* Create a group for yourself and put a marker on the map that
essentially says "I am here and looking for other musicians to play
with". Forums are handy for this, but your post falls away quickly.
With a group on folkjam.org your group shows up on the local jam maps,
putting you in front of the people you want to meet.
