ok, i got that. i dont get much gain from it though. I have the line volume
all the way up, but hardly hear it.
when i go in through the mic, it doesn't sound right.
i have gone into the audio properties and set the line in volume to max.
could there ebe something else i am missing??

unfortunatly, they are not color coded.
this is the Creative Labs SB0090 Audigy Platinum card
looking at the back from right to left, the second hole is the
lineout or headset/speaker and the 3rd is the mic
there is a plug before the first, which is for the 5.1 surround i
believe.
On the Audigy docs I'm looking at -
1 - line/digital out
2 - line in
3 - mic in
4 - line out
5 - line out
If you can see the tiny engraved icons, look for the
(()) with the arrow head pointing IN toward the
center of the (()). That's line in.
