The baby-boomers are graying. That means their eyes are going,
along with other parts of their bodies. They are graying but not
dead yet. Their would-be retirement years will most likely be
spend strapped to a computer screen just like the rest of us. Why,
because they will want to "change the world" just a little bit
more before they die (having grown up in the 60's and being
thoroughly indoctrinated with that antique "spirit"). That too
will become job-one of "the dying" generation, those who care and
who can, and who must.
As one of those graying/dying boomers, the last thing I expect to be
doing is being strapped to a computer! ;-)
In fact, this is one of the many reasons I took up guitar. I am
weaning myself from this computer thing, and hope to someday play
fluently before everything (including possibly my eyesight) quits
working.
Snark.
I do hope you and we succeed at that, i.e. achieving _some_ kind of balanced
existance. '-)
It ain't easy. If you haven't tried it in a while, I dare you to not touch
your computer, check no email or favorite newsgroups, for one week! If you
can (do that) you have more discipline and "will-power" than most, including
myself. It is very seductive, dragging you deeper and deeper in, sucking all
of your time, as you explore the things and people and places and ideas you
love.
