Perusing the monster threads in this group has got my teeny-weeny musical
brain just spinning like a top!

My recent desire to learn how to play a guitar has turned into this
monster obsession that is overloading most of my synapses.

Kind of like when I got my first computer and enrolled in Chemical
Sciences at BCIT at the age of 32. Digging into computers near cost me
my whole first term. Twenty years later and I still build my own PCs,
I've never had to take one to the shop and I'm dropping a new video card
in as soon as I disconnect from this. Need it to run Quake 4. F'n dial-
up sucks!

I totally enjoyed tuning up my new guitar. Lowering the saddle, tweeking
the truss rod and oiling the bridge and fingerboard just helped me get
the feel for the whole process.

I've always been a freak for precision and the trip has been a real slice
so far.

I know you guys have been pounding around the block long before I showed
up, but it would be nice to see/hear more stuff related to a BEGINNER as
related to the group name.

Come on Pt and Lumpy ... You both contribute so much when you're not
flaming the crap out of each other.

Not to say that some of those flames don't get me ONFLMAO.

It would be a lot more constructive and conducive to BEGINNERS like
myself if I didn't have to wade through so much BS to find those little
gems in the haystack.

All-in-all though, I'm gleaning mountains of info from all the great
stuff I find in various NGs.

Gotta go, magpies are flocking in the back yard. Ca-CHING! TARGET
PRACTICE!

12 guage pump really lays waste to those bastards.

Noisy pricks really mess with my karma.

Hang in there, LabRat. You've just started playing and are full of
energy. If there's one piece of advice I'd give to anybody, beginner
or not, is this:

Do not lose your excitement. Do whatever is needed to keep being
excited about making music. You can tell the posers from the real guys
who inject that spirit of excitement into their playing. Listen to Ed
here on this NG for a positive example of how to feel about playing
music.
