Fuck you and my hostile tone you fucking thief.
You're a lowlife, worthless, dishonest, unethical,
piece of ***. I hope your ass gets canned, you
lose your job, go to prison, and get buttfucked
daily by the biggest, baddest cellmate you could
ever imagine.

How's that tone? Still think I'm like that friend
of yours? I'm no friend of thieves like you.

What I have done is played my own covers of tunes I like and recorded
them with the idea of sending them to family and friends that live far
from me. Putting up a web site seemed to me to be the most efficient
way of doing this...

Which is a violation of the US copyright law in
letter and spirit. Have you had your head up your
ass for the past few years? Rights owners are getting
sites shut down. Yahoo (where you post your covers)
states in their terms of service that posting of copyrighted
material without rights owner permission is a violation of
their terms.

YOU posted a portion of the law right here earlier. Then
you chose to laugh it off and say 'well if they catch me,
then I'll pay for it'.

What a disgusting excuse for an ethical adult.
This from a college educated scientist.

*** you thief.

Yes but no blue notes. Just blue hairs.www.lumpyguitar.net

Rant all you want, but I'm still looking for an opinion on this issue
from someone who doesn't have such an obvious axe to grind. If in
fact I am violating the letter or spirit of the law, I will take the
site down.

I did not choose to laugh it off. You put those words in my mouth. I
put "smiley face" in one of my posts to try (*obviously
unsuccessfully, as it turned out*) to get you to lighten up.

Rights owners are getting sites shut down

True, but everything I have read points toward unauthorized
replication of artists' performances being the target. File-sharing
sites such as Napster where files ripped from CDs are shared.
Original artists' recordings and concert performances on YouTube. I
haven't read or heard anything about anyone going after amateur, not-
for-profit performances of covers.

There are hundreds of thousands of examples similar to mine where
amateurs have posted cover tunes. Whether this is a violation or not,
I'm not sure; I intend to thoroughly investigate it. As I said, I
will act in accordance with the law. I question, however, why out of
these hundreds of thousands you have chosen to go after me.

You have chosen not to address any of the issues that I have raised in
a rational way, in particular how my actions could conceivable affect
any musicians adversely, and I don't expect you to now. However, I
would appreciate input from others who have knowledge of the issues
involved.
