AD marks his arrival, not departure, so if he was born on year 0, as legend has it, then he'd be 2006 - as it's this many years that have passed since then.

...and the year (AD) started at 0 so add another year...

36 + 2006 + 1 = 2043

I could be wrong though. I certainly did not go to seminary.
