I don't appreciate everybody's comments making fun of one of the best
musicians of our time - Esteban.
I think it's wrong to denigrate one so beloved by Segovia that he was
thought of as a son. To wit (from Wikipedia): 'In 1978, Esteban
received Segovia's endorsement with the following message: "To Stephen
Paul, who loves the guitar and the guitar loves him -- an artist."' How
much more explicit could Segovia be in calling him a beloved son? The
implication is clear as day.
This guitar package is probably worth more than $10,000 given that it
contains a de facto endorsement from Segovia himself through Esteban.
Huh, you may ask. Well, how much would you pay for a guitar owned and
played by Segovia, hmmm? $100,000? $250,000? Now you have the chance to
own a guitar that was virtually owned by Segovia through Esteban via a
Chinese luthier for a fraction of that!
So, instead of griping about it, you should be buying it and be
thankful you could!

PS. I studied briefly under a local guitar treasure here in my area who
was on a first name basis with Segovia. Part of the fun of taking
lessons from this guy was the stories he could tell... he's in his late
70's now, was personal friends with Charlie Byrd, is a MelBay author,
ex classical guitar prof, performed with Segovia, yadda, yadda.
Whenever he would relate a story about Segovia, he would always refer
to him as Andres... like the time he and Andres couldn't get a cab from
after a performance at the Kennedy Center and waited in the rain.
Just in case someone misses my subtle humor above, my point is that
there were others who were closer to Andres than Esteban.
