About a month ago I bought a package of phosphor-bronze strings for my
electric guitar because the packaging was so bad, I couldn't tell they
were acoustic guitar strings. The thing iis, they looked like electric
guitar strings, they played like electric guitar strings (though a
little bit on the "mellow" side), so I have to ask more experienced
people-- what's the bloody difference between them?
I've found that noticing differences in strings was initially
difficult for me. After time, however, the differences became more
apparent as I became more aware. If I accidentally put acoustic
strings on my guitar the second I picked one note I would probably be
startled by the sound, but a year ago I probably wouldn't have
blinked. The differences between strings can definitely be subtle
until you really start paying attention.
