I agree with Jeff if your guitar is out of tune it will sound wrong, which
makes it harder to learn. Play one of those online pitch pipe things on the
internet at the start of your learning session and tune to that, only takes
a minute, or invest in a cheap electronic tuner. If you decide you dont want
to learn the guitar anymore, sell it on. A tuned guitar is vital imo to your
learning.
