I don't know if that's such a bad idea.
The first thing I always consider in a guitar
is cosmetics. Particularly with an elec guitar,
you can get just about any style to sound like
however you want. Strats with humbuckers, archtops
with singles etc.

If you find a green guitar with neon pink stripes
that doesn't have the sound you want, you can probably
find the same green/pink guitar that DOES have the
sound you want.

Yeah and you might end up with a POS that doesn't stay in tune and
falls apart in a few months.
