Glucosomine may help. I had significant pain in my joints above the
knuckle, and it responded to glucosomine. There are medical articles
linking use of ibuprophin with joint pain that responds to use of
glucosomine. You might want to read up on it. It basically saved my
career as a player.

I've been playing mostly jazz chord melodies for almost two years now.
Lately, after my 4th or 5th piece, my left hand (fretboard)gets very
sore, particularly around the knuckles, and I have so stop. It doesn't
hurt in any other activity, only playing guitar. I used to be able to
play for 1-1.5 hours without stopping. It doesn't seem to be arthritis
since the hand doesn't hurt at all when not playing guitar. Maybe I
should go see a physician. What do you think? Anyone else have similar
pain in the left hand? If so, did you discover a remedy or solution?
Thanks.
