Double stops

I've heard the above mentioned quite often but didn't really know what it
was.
I just googled and "think" I now know.

Basically its a two note chord? i.e. a power chord perhaps ie a 4th Dyad?

eg of 4th dyad:
e---------
B---------
G---------
D--3------
A--3------
E----------

eg of 5th dyad:
e---------
B---------
G---------
D--5------
A--3------
E----------

Both examples of double stops.

Or have I misunderstood the sites?
