Yes indeed. And all those Brits, Poles, French, Russians, Aussies,
Kiwis, Malayans, South Africans, Canadians, Indians, Burmese, etc.,
who just sat around on their backsides waiting for you to turn up --
eventually -- weren't even grateful. I'll bet you're disgusted.

I know you're being sarcastic here, but.. just let me say that the
French have had there issues with the US during the Bush years, with
good reason IMO, but they've always been grateful for the US actions in
liberating their fine country in WWII.

Not to mention that their dislike of the British was enough for
Lafayette and the boys to lend the emerging nation a helping hand.

True that. If the French hadn't helped finance the American Revolution
we may still be subjects of the Queen. But's that a bit beside the
point as those French are long gone.

Meanwhile there are still some French people alive who remember when
the US Army marched through their town after kicking some serious Nazi
arse.
