Something I want to mention.
I use the term jazz loosly.
Many of the rock and blues songs in the past 30+ years have improvised
solos.
They often use jazz chord extensions and jazz flavors.
Traffic was a jazz band?
Low spark of high heeled boys is pure jazz.
If you heard modern rock songs in the early 60's they would be
considered as modern jazz.
At the time Take 5 was considered as a rock song even though today it
is a jazz standard.
Jazz is improvisation with both chords and solos.
There is a thin line between rock and jazz.
