Oops, I write a novel about hum and I didn't see the word "static"
above. If you have static then it's most likely the amp, go in for
some warranty work. Its probably just a weak tube or loose solder
joint. Static cannot be induced easily into a quiescent running amp
with nothing plugged into it.
