i forgot my introduction

Hi all thank you all for helping me ,,,since i spent over 8 hours on here
yesterday alone and have received ALOT of useful info i think it is fair to
introduce myself and where i am at musically.

My name is Gary, i spent over 12 years playing trumpet in school and in
college. Always wanted to learn guitar and one day when at local music
store getting reeds for my daughers clarinet i fell in love with a great
looking acoustic...a KayK553H http://www.kayguitar.com/products/k553.htm.
I bought it for 80 dollars and started taking lessons offline...learned all
the basic chords ( G C D Em E Am A ) but wanted to do more..so i started
looking into electrics...not knowing any better i bought the starter package
from the local SAMS club ...a Fender STARcaster ...started taking lessons
and was told that i desperately needed to get away from that guitar ...in
his words "get a guitar that is better than you" so i sold it to a guy at
work and invested in a Washburn Lyon series electric guitar .. i only get to
play it in lessons since it is still in layaway... but i think moving up to
a better guitar has made me a much better player...

at this point i am learing rhythm guitar and attempting to try to do some
lead on my own reading TABS ...

thank you for your time it took reading this and i hope for many more years
of being in this group and hopefully being able to contribute a little
rather than taking

gary
