at the 1st fret, then progressively gets in tune as it reaches the 12th

the strings makes it worse, so I guess a solution is playing with a
lighter touch.
I'll get it to a luthier when I have hte time/$$$.
Sharp at the lower frets does indeed suggest, to me, a high nut.
You don't need to get it to a luthier. A competent guitar tech should be able to do a full set up including adjusting the nut slots. When your car needs a tune up or repair, you don't take it to an automotive engineer, you take it to a recommended mechanic.
