Thanks for the replies guys.

The strings are actually new! I checked intonation by the fretted note
at 12th and the harmony.

I've noticed that it is worst in the low E string. It's the most sharp
at the 1st fret, then progressively gets in tune as it reaches the 12th
fret. But I think it's alright now, I've found that pressing harder on
the strings makes it worse, so I guess a solution is playing with a
lighter touch.

I'll get it to a luthier when I have hte time/$$$.


Out of interest what guitar is it?
