Hi,
This has probably been addressed before on this group, so I apologize
if this is a tired, old question.
I purchased an Oscar Hammerschmidt Delta Blues guitar from my local
guitar shop several months ago. I played it and loved it. The other
day I took it out and I noticed a kind of buzz on the 1st string that
I'd never experienced before. It was fine when I played an open
string but as soon as I fretted it, as in a G7 chord, the high e
string would kinda buzz and ruin the whole chord.
Since the guitar had the original strings it came with, I decided to
change the strings. I used D'Addario .011 strings, which worked well
on my two Fenders. The same thing happened; I still get that buzz
with new strings. I'm not very handy with a screwdriver. Is there
something simple I should check myself, or should I take it to the
shop where I purchased it and ask them to check it out?
Thanks for any advise you have.
Kind regards,
Nancy
As i understand it, new size strings may require little tweaks to the
guitar, bridge/saddle height, maybe even a neck tweak.
I'm sure those that know better will flesh this out, but i think basically
different gauge strings means you may need a little tweaking of the guitar.
