Why can't you just be someone like Jesus or Napoleon?

Even Jesus and Napoleon need someone to aspire to.

truth be told, the idea of "raising the bar" has been in the back of my
mind, for a _very_ long time. If you recall, I said recently that I had my
_fair share_ of sh*tty teachers and a failed education system, and that if I
could change some of that then I would do. I also said _why_ and _for whom_,
I'd do it. If, in due course, I managed to succeed at that, that which I set
out to do, and accumulate a few _kills_ along the way, and have need to
rattle some of them off on occasion, when some tiddy-bowl-man tells me I
don't know how to "shoot", so be it, it's all in the game.

I left out a few, kills, as a matter of fact. I could resume if you'd like
;')

I'm actually a fairly quiet, polite, and reserved person. But I _am_
passionate_, about both music and education, and I did forewarn Lumpy that
I'd rise to it if pushed, the only way I know how, using words. Just making
good on my promise -- and having a little fun along the way too, I must
confess, laying it on thick, unafraid to be a little dramatic, for effect,
if the message feels right and true.

Unfortunately you shout at your audience. It's not necessary and very
offputting.

I'd be happy to refund your money Stephen.

You're not listening. You're just being defensive. That's okay, but I'm actually trying to give you honest feedback.

If I "shout", it's usually because I'm having to repeat the same things over
and over again to the same few people thick-headed people, and I'm growing
tired of it. I'm human too. One can only take so much.

You're doing it to yourself. No one upsets you or makes you feel any way you don't want to feel.

I've been taking
flack from many directions at once for a few weeks now (more like a month),
and not a single instance of it should have had to happened. There was no
good reason for the majority of it, the flack, nor the dispute points, with
a few heckler-gnats thrown in as well, in the first place.

Have you looked at whether your own manner might contribute to the feedback you vget? Or do you think everyone is wrong but you?

I _have_ been keeping score. The quantity of idiocy coming from many
quarters right now, and the amount of wasted time and energy spent dealing
with it, is getting a little ridiculous, frankly. _You_ added your fair
share just the other day too, remember? You're not "blameless" either for
adding to it -- pretending to be brain-damaged just to get a rise out of me.

I wasn't trying to get a rise out of you. That's pointless to me. I don't do that. I'm not perfect, I do make mistakes but I don't try to piss people off. That's pointless to me. I don't want to be upset and I don;t want anyone else to be upset.

It worked, Stephan, I would think that would make you happy.

No it doesn't. Not in the slightest. But I'm not responsible for the way you feel.

And now you're
complaining that I'm being "off-putting", and "shouting" too much at poor
little you, and some of the others? I don't think so.

I'm not complaining. Do what you want. If you ignore the feedback you get you will keep getting the same results; it would then appear that the results you are getting are exactly what you want. If you want better feedback you can change the way you do things. You don't have to. It just might work better.

I defend myself and
speak _emphatically_ in real life too.

There's an example. The emphasis is not necessary.

I say what's on my mind. There _is_
some fire in my blood. You wanna tangle with me, you might get burned.

This sounds threatening, and people don't respond well to threats. Do you teach your students with fear in real life?

If
you ears hurt, or your eyes bleed, turn away. If you want me out of this
mode (and I do too, by the way), then quit with your two-cent
politely-correct jibes, observations, and advice.

Okay I get it. You want to talk and want me to shut up. No problem.

You already blew your
cover, crossed over the line (and more than once, now that I recall), so
don't play that with me, and not expect something back in return.

I haven't done anything to you.

If any apologies are truly due (and I'm not convinced yet that they are),
you'll just have to make-due without, for now -- or just deduct it from my
balance-sheet and be done with it, I should have some reserves left on
account.

I don't need an apology. I'm giving you all I've got and coming from a place where we are equals and having a conversation about the best way to things.

I have made one or two suggestions which you don't like, that's all. So just keep doing what you're doing. If you ever want feedback from me, just ask.
