Subject: Re: E minor Pentatonic CAGED scale pattern overlap chart --5shapes
I've just had a look at Roger web site <thecipher.com>.
Whether he can play like a EVH or Bert Weedon is not what it's all
about!
I like his system. It makes a lot of sense and goes a long way to
getting passed all the "tonic, sub-dominent, min7b5th" terminology of
traditional music courses. He has an approach to learning music theory
on stringed intruments which means you should be able to play in any
key without worrying "oh I'm in F now so the 4th must be Bb".
I can apply music theory using traditional methods but, I've done it by
converting all the language to numbers and patterns, this has taken me
years. Rogers system gives a very direct route to learning useful
theory. I congratulate him.
Hi Cliff. Thanks. appreciated. I'm happy if it helps.
Roger
