Cheap Guitar screw up?

Bought my current (first guitar) from eBay (Harley Benton) a bit like this
one: http://tinyurl.com/sxdvx
It was a while ago and was over £100. Ever since I have had it its felt a
bit cheap -and I always felt it could have been a bit better - especially
the bottom fat string never seems to sound like i *think* it should).
I have recently started taking lessons and am slowly progressing. Tongiht I
was messing about with all the screws around my bridge and I may have
screwed it up slightly! I have managed to get it into tune again but I might
get it checked out by a pro (any ideas on cost/time?)

Anyway, I am considering going for a fender type guitar for my next guitar -
something a bit thinner and lighter - however I can only really afford
around the £150-200 mark maximum - is it worth it 'upgrading'? I suppose
with a shop guitar you get the benefit of it being set up properly rather
than getting it straight out of the box like I did...
Any thoughts? I am still only in the beginner stages (after almost 2 years
of delaying) so I want something that I like a bit more- but don't wanna
spend £150 that will be equally as annoying in some repects.
Any advice?
