...and, always leave your guitar in full view and on it's stand, so you
pick it up and widdle with it whenever you have the urge. Having it in
its case or out of sight means you've less chance of picking it up for a
strum.
And when you get tired and start hitting bum notes, pack it up for a while
(to read postings on this group, walk the dog, do some pushups, make a cup
of tea etc), then get back into it with a fresh perspective in half an
hour or so. You'll be amazed at how much a little rest can help; and make
you suck less.
Raymo.
I'd like to add that a good setup and restring can also work wonders......
After some good advice from this group,i spent the day yesterday taking off
my well used strings and giving the guitar and neck a good clean....
Anyway,i took the strings off, cleaned the fretboard thoroughly and then
applied some Kyser Lem-Oil to the fretboard.
After i'd re-strung it i applied some fast-fret to the strings and
board.....
It plays great now and i'm really pleased.....
Basically,if you're getting disheartened then give your guitar a bit of care
and attention.A new set of strings and a good clean.
Take care of your guitar, and it will take care of you.
Works for me :)
