What Guitars Did You Buy

Im 50 years old and received my first guitar at the age of 10 when I saw the
Beatles. Ive always had a guitar but until the last couple of years I
really never got past learning all the chords. Im having a great time now.
Over the years I always had the implulse to "start over" and would go out
and buy a nice guitar. I wish I had kep them all. Here's what they were...


1- A 1964 Sears Silvertone.

2- A couple of acoustics and electrics that were cheapies that I don't
recall much about.

3- One of the first Taylor Acoustics made. I believe it was a 510.
Bought it around 1977 or so?

4- A 1980 American made start with a Fender Twin Reverb Amp.

5- A 1980 Les Paul with gold plated hardware. Paid around 800.

6- A 1980 Gibson ES 335 just like Chuck Berry.

7- A 1984 made in american strat.

8- A really nice classical string guitar, can't recall the name. Bought
in 1988.

9- A 1993 Martin JC 40 Acoustic .

10- A 2004 American made deluxe strat. (my last and the one Im really
having fun with)


I think this is pretty common of players like me. You have a few skills to
have fun but thats about it. Someday you may get really good or maybe you
wont. I bet a couple of them like the Les Paul and the Gibson would have
been good investments! Oh yea can you tell that in 1977 I was divorced and
did not remarry until 1984? A guitar can be a good friend sometimes.
Anyone else with they had every guitar they ever bought?
