Could be. When I was Googleing for lyrics yesterday Sinatra came up often
too. I learned it from Harry Nilsson "A Little Touch of Schmilsson in the
Night" album
http://tinyurl.com/akkgs (at Amazon with track clips). It's a really
special, cherished, album to me. Harry did lots of weird goofy funny albums
in the early 70s, which we all loved too, but this one was serious, with
full orchestra, lovingly done, beautifully sung, start to finish a
masterpiece. At that time and period of my life I never would have otherwise
gotten exposure to this kind of music, mostly 20s and 30s love songs. And
his renditions would make anyone proud I should think. I'm indebted to him
for that little treasure.
I once played it for my Aunt, in 1974, and she cried listening to it,
remembering her youth, and her husband, killed in WWII. She said to me (me
who'd only recently cut off his 2 foot long hair, the black sheep of the
family, etc), Roger!, _YOU_ like this kind of music!? Yup, I sure do, and
did ;') I remember feeling just a little bit insulted, that someone would be
so surprised at the idea that I liked lots of different kinds of music, good
music of all kinds. But hey, being misunderstood is what kids are for!
