Just one more thing, if you do go for the stack amp type route have a
look at the THD Hotplate for power attentuators. I've heard bad things
about the Scholz and not very good things about the marshall
powerbreak. IMO the THD hotplate is very good, and I'm glad I bought
it - alought on my 50W stack it now means I can turn it up to about
~1/4 volume (on highest attenuation setting you can crank it all the
way, except the sound becomes over-attenuated / fizzy). I would not
recommend anything more than a 50W for room practice, and as I have
found a 50W is a bit too much even with a hotplate, but it is workable.
