1. Pick a song you know and would like to learn.Hello Group
I'm learning with tab and a book on my new classical. I played bass for 6 years, and took a year of classical piano. I have studied basic theory in a classroom setting, although it was over 15 years ago. My brother is a talented guitarist, and I guess you could say I have decent all-around potential, rhythm, ear, etc. I was an ok pianist and can still play a bit.
What I'm looking for are some suggestions for good songs, and scale and chord exercises to use. I am learning chords from a book, and learning two songs on tab - "Only a Broken Heart" (Tom Petty) and "Dust in The Wind". Same basic progressions I guess you'd say. I'm progressing fairly well but am getting bored and want to expand my practice regimen. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
2. Go to www.google.com and enter the song name in inverted commas in the search box, eg "Little Red Rooster".
That's very likely to get you the lyrics and chord progression.
Do you know all 15 basic chords? Can you change between them easily? Learning more songs helps with this and keeps the boredom factor down.
